The English Department program uses the New York State Standards as its principal guideline in order to develop the skills that students need in the areas of listening, reading and writing.  In addition, the program expands the students' comprehension and enjoyment of literature. The writing of research papers and the skills needed, in the process of the writing are emphasized during each year's curriculum.
