Nurtured on a 13-acre Bronx campus, Monsignor Scanlan High School, a Catholic co-educational institution, thrives as a college preparatory powerhouse rooted in academic excellence. Monsignor Scanlan High School offers a holistic educational journey, celebrating diversity, fostering academic brilliance, and nurturing well-rounded individuals through sports and specialized programs.
 
Named after its founder Msgr. Arthur J. Scanlan, MSHS has a rich history with the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill and the Marist Brothers who, with dedicated lay faculty have staffed the school through the years. 
 
Accredited by the Board of Regents of the State of New York and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges, the school's inclusive community of over 400 students embraces diverse backgrounds and is guided by a devoted and proficient staff preparing them for higher education.

Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Accreditation
Monsignor Scanlan High School is currently undergoing a self-study year in order to continue its accreditation status with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The self-study accreditation process begins every 6 years after initially being granted accreditation.  The school's last accreditation was approved in 2012.
 
To be an accredited school means that Monsignor Scanlan has been certified to meet qualitative standards in its mission, its governance and leadership, its planning for school improvement, its facilities, its standards on health and safety, its commitment to student learning and student life. All of these standards are a framework towards achieving excellence in student performance in accordance to the school mission statement.
 
Monsignor Scanlan High School is committed to learn about what works, what improvements are needed, and what has to be changed in order for the school to fulfill its mission.  We thank all stakeholders in advance for their input and help along our journey to excellence. We fully believe our accreditation will continue as it has for the last 16 years.
